What if everything is true.  What if all the controversial, devisive and seemingly contradictory arguments everbody makes, are actually correct.

Ulysses, the novel by James Joyce, was initially banned from sale in the U.S. because it was deemed to have no redeeming social value.  I'm not sure I agree with the assessment or that anything should be banned from publication, altogether, but this idea of 'redeeming social value' seems worthy of consideration.  Things outside that standard are fair game for folly and anybody who wants to indulge, but it is also fair for a society to set them apart - maybe not appropriate for all company.

Bottom line, basic decency and politeness is not censorship.  And protecting the tender sensibilities of the young and innocent, or anybody else fpr that matter, isn't necessarily a bad thing.   Generally, folks have the right to be offended - every behavior or expression isn't required to be agreeable to every person who might witness it... but that doesn't mean folks have the right to offend indiscriminantly.  And it certainly doesn't mean a town or a city or a state can't set any standards or limits for what's acceptable in public spaces or open commerce.

I'd like to see a bit more sport in our sports - and a little more business in our business.  Every endeavor doesn't need to be a platform for socio-political grandstanding.
